We have been coming to Healthy Paws for our cat's care since moving to the area in 2009. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised to find this gem in the blink-and-you'll-miss-it little complex among the Westborough woods. Our routine care visits have been satisfactory, the place is clean, the staff is gentle and caring, and the price for regular exams is comparable to the other vets we've gone to in MA.
This past October, our cat suddenly fell very ill with an infection, high fever, and extreme lethargy. Because he needed round-the-clock care, we were carting him back and forth between Tufts 24-hour care in Grafton at night and Healthy Paws during the day. Dr. Cronin worked with our kitty at Healthy Paws and was very thorough in the battery of tests run, yet was understanding about our requests to stagger the expensive tests to see if one would yield results before running another.
It is a frustrating position to be in when you want the best for your pet, but emergency care costs can rack up so fast and we wanted to get the most out of the funds we had to save our cat. We felt bad for asking to run tests one at a time, but Dr. Cronin put us at ease by saying that the money we could potentially save from avoiding unnecessary tests could go toward the rest of his recovery care, so I feel like she understood our predicament and didn't shame or pressure us for not doing everything all at once.
Thankfully, our cat finally pulled through the worst of it. When we brought him in a couple weeks later for a check-up, Dr. Cronin examined him and expressed such happiness and relief at finding him recovered. I was touched by her joy and enthusiasm at that moment and felt that she really cared about our cat and had been worried about him too. To me, that is an important quality for a vet to have. She also surprised us by calling us at home a couple times throughout our cat's illness and recovery, just to check in and answer any questions we might have had. I really appreciated the attentiveness during that stressful time.
The only downside at Healthy Paws during our cat's illness was that they needed an ultrasound for him, but did not have the equipment on-site. They referred him to Tufts vet school in Grafton for the ultrasound, and I think somewhere in there we had some redundant costs because Tufts prefers to do their own exams with ultrasounds, even if the pet has already been examined elsewhere. Hopefully Healthy Paws will obtain more tech equipment as their business continues to thrive.

Dr. Russell and Dr. Cronin provide amazing vet care and unmatched customer service. I am shocked that the other review for Healthy Paws was negative. I have been with Healthy Paws for a couple of years now but have been there enough for a dog's entire life. My 10 year old golden had Lyme disease and now has cancer, and throughout it all, both Dr. Russell and Dr. Cronin have been caring, attentive, and very understanding. I am always able to get a quick appointment (sometimes the next day), I am able to be in contact with the doctors via email, and when I had to take my dog to the ER, I got both a phone call and email the next day asking how he was doing. I hold Healthy Paws in high regard and will continue to bring my dogs to them.

I have been taking my 6 month old puppy to Healthy Paws since the day he joined our family and I've had nothing but a great experience! The doctors, tech assistants and the rest of the support staff are not only very professional and knowledgeable, but they are so much more personable than I expected - they truly care about our new family member and take the extra time to answer questions, get to know us and our specific concerns about our puppy, no matter how large or small.
We recently had our puppy neutered which was a stressful event for all of us. The staff at Healthy Paws spent time with us before the procedure so we would know exactly what to expect and really put our minds at ease that he was in the best hands. As soon as the procedure was over I received a call from them to let me know he was recovering and doing fine. My own physician could use some tips from Healthy Paws on bedside behavior!
So, if you are looking for a great vet who you can trust caring for your beloved furry friend, definitely check out Healthy Paws! They are conveniently located off of both Rte 9 and 495 with easy access in a nice rural area.

I love Healthy Paws. Having three dogs, one who is a Senior Dog, it can be very worrisome when they go to the best, but Dr. Russell and her staff are wonderful to my bully breeds that they LOVE going there!! And recently, I left an early morning voicemail on the office machine explaining that I needed to bring my dog in first thing in the morning, around 8 am due to severe swelling. Dr. Russell called me back at 5:45 am to start him on medication that I had so by the time we got to see her, he was doing much better. I have also had Dr. Cronin give me her cell phone when picking up an injured dog just in case there were any questions over the weekend. That is wondeful customer service and I recommend them to everyone. They have a very state of the art facility and the ability to do a lot of things on site.
