Nutrition
Food is the building block that allows your pet to grow & live an active lifestyle.
Nutritional Counseling
Nutrition plays a large part in the quality of life of your cat or dog. Food is the building blocks and energy components that allow your pets to grow and develop their potential for a lifelong active lifestyle. There are hundreds of different diets and brands to choose from.
Prescription diets
We carry Purina and Royal Canin prescription diets to aid in the treatment and maintenance of illnesses and diseases. Your veterinarian will discuss diet options if they feel they are appropriate for your pet’s needs. If you have questions or concerns regarding your pet’s diet we are happy to discuss these with you.
Raw diets - NOT recommended
We do not recommend raw diets because the food is more likely to carry bacteria including Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes which cause illnesses. Veterinary organizations such as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) as well as the American Animal Hospital Association officially recommend against feeding raw diets. Grain-free diets - NOT recommended
We do not recommend grain-free diets as there is no evidence to support that grain-free diets are more healthy for cats and dogs. In fact there are recent reports that suspect grain-free diets may be linked to a recent rise in heart disease in dogs. See the following links for more information regarding raw pet food diets:
